Felix Braun has been director of the E-commerce Contact Point Germany (eCommerce- Verbindungsstelle Deutschland) since July 2007.

The German lawyer was born in Bonn and grew up both in Paris and Bonn. He studied law at the Universities of Freiburg (Germany) and Aix-en-Provence (France), specialising in European Union law.

Following his second state law examination, Felix Braun started working at the European Consumer Centre Germany, which is part of the ECC-Net, in 2006 and gained practical expertise in the fields of consumer law, European Union law, alternative dispute resolution and e-commerce.

Felix Braun was also involved as a short-term expert in various EU-Twinning Projects in new Member States of the European Union in a variety of legal aspects concerning e-commerce and international private law.

He enjoys keeping fit through hiking, reading novels, experiencing the cultures of international metropolitans as well as being a classic car enthusiast.

Henk began his career in computer technology in 1973 at Dow Chemicals in the Netherlands. Moving to Volmac in 1980, he held various positions in IT and management until 1992, when he was appointed general director of IQUIP Informatica BV, a subsidiary company of Cap Gemini N.V. In 1998, he became a member of the Cap Gemini N.V. Executive Board and, following the Group’s acquisition of E&Y Consulting in 2000, was named managing director of Cap Gemini Ernst & Young in the Benelux. He was CEO of the Continental Europe and Asia Pacific SBU since January 2004. From 2009 on, he is Vice chairman of TS Committee and chairman of the Dutch country board. In addition to that he acts as executive sponsor for TeamOne, the global leadership programme of Capgemini. Henk is a member of several IT advisory committees, and is also non-executive board member of Forrester Research, and, among other professional commitments, is chairman of the Netherlands’ Association of IT-companies ICT~Office.

Jacques Bus studied Mathematics at the University of Amsterdam and obtained his PhD with a thesis in Numerical Mathematics. He worked as a researcher at CWI (Amsterdam) for 15 years. In 1988 he joined the European Commission services and has been working in several jobs in the Esprit and ICT research programmes.

From March 2004 he has taken responsibility for the unit Trust and Security in the ICT Programme, which includes Security of Network and Service infrastructures, Critical Information Infrastructure Protection, Identity and Privacy management, and enabling technologies for trust and security.

Peter Driessen, born in 1952 in Wipperfuerth/Germany, graduated from the University of Frankfurt with a diploma in Economics. After an engagement as a parliamentary advisor for the CDU (Christian Democratic Union) fraction at the Bremen Parliament from 1978 to 1985 he joined the Chamber of Industry and Commerce for Munich and Upper Bavaria in 1986, where he held various positions including managing director department of technology, new media, and environmental protection. Since September 2008 he is acting as Chief Executive Officer of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce for Munich and Upper Bavaria and of the Bavarian Association of Chambers of Industry and Commerce.

Peter Driessen is a member of various supervisory boards including Messe Muenchen GmbH (Munich Trade Fairs International Group) and Bayern Innovativ Gesellschaft fuer Innovation und Wissenstransfer mbH, Nuremberg (Agency for Innovation and Knowledge Transfer in Bavaria), and is acting on the administrative board of LfA Foerderbank Bayern (Economic Development Bank of Bavaria) and on the advisory board of Stadtsparkasse München (Savings Bank Munich).

Peter Driessen is married and has two children.

Franz Haslinger is head of e-commerce at the Austrian institute for applied technology (OIAT) and expert for certification, consulting and ADR-systems in e-commerce and security in internet. He has wide experience in the sector of technical, legal and organisational evaluation of e-commerce solutions and is responsible for the development of the national Austrian e-commerce trust mark and the implementation of the Euro-Label trust mark in Austria. As a member of the board of Euro-Label he is responsible for the development of Euro-Label in the east-european countries of the EU. Franz Haslinger has attended the polytechnic and is educated and experienced in the field of e-business and IT-management.

MARKUS HEYDER works in the Office of International Affairs of the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) in Washington D.C. as counsel for International Consumer Protection. In recent years, Mr. Heyder has dedicated a significant amount of his time to international privacy and data security issues.

He has represented the FTC in the Data Privacy Subgroup and the Electronic Commerce Steering Group in APEC and has worked for the past few years on the development of APEC cross-border privacy rules. As an attorney in the FTC's Office of International Affairs, Mr. Heyder also assists the FTC's litigation divisions on cross-border cases and generally works with U.S. and foreign government officials to improve international law enforcement cooperation against cross-border fraud and deception.

Prior to joining the FTC’s Office of International Affairs, Mr. Heyder worked as an Attorney in the FTC’s Division of Marketing Practices, where he enforced consumer protection laws against telemarketing companies and participants in illegal Internet-based chain-letter schemes. Prior to joining the FTC, Mr. Heyder spent almost eight years in private practice where he focused on general commercial litigation and class action defense.

Mr. Heyder received his undergraduate degree from Middlebury College, Vermont, in 1989. He received his law degree from Columbia University School of Law, New York, in 1994.

Semih İncedayı, born in 1965 in Istanbul, is the General Manager of Turkcell Technology, the Research & Development Company of Turkcell.

Semih İncedayı is working in this position since April 2007, with the establishment of the company for Turkcell Technology. He had joined to Turkcell on December 2006 as the Manager of Research & Development Division.

After he has graduated from Istanbul Erkek Lisesi, Semih İncedayı received his undergraduate degree from Computer Engineering Deprtment of Middle East Technical University.

Philippe Letellier , born in 1957, studied engineering at ENSEM Nancy before obtaining a doctorate in computer science from Paris XI Orsay. In 2000, he obtained an executive MBA from HEC/CPA to acquire a double culture: technology and business. Philippe has a broad industrial experience (25 years) with start-up and international companies such as what are now Thomson and Thales. His last position was General Manager of the French research centre of Thomson. His main involvement has been in software development for interactive image systems and in R&D management. Among other activities, he was responsible for the definition of strategic views and participated in the definition of the worldwide Thomson Research Programme. He was also deeply involved in standardisation and developed patent production. Since 2006, he has been Deputy Research Director at the Institut Télécom where he is responsible for valorisation, technology transfer and partnerships. In this role, he participates in the building of the innovation ecosystem connecting international companies, SMEs and the academic world around open innovation and research used as a business-development tool.

As of 1 September 2008, Philippe Letellier is Vice-Chairman of ITEA 2.

Katharina Maimer is attending Vienna Law School, where she specializes in IT Law. She also studies translation sciences English and French. Before working for the Internet Ombudsman, she was working in the consumer protection department of the Austrian Chamber or Labor and the Austrian Research Institute for IT-Law. In her free time she is a passionate podcaster, new media and Web 2.0 user.

He entered into the Japanese Government in 1993. Alexander Reissl was born in Munich on 15th February 1958 and father of one child.

He was active in the district council of Munich-Moosach from 1978-1996, where he became the chairman from 1984 to 1996. He then moved into the city council. His main topics have been city development and planning, building, public transportation, local economy, future planning and finance.

Since July 2007 he is a member in the economy advisory board. Since April 2008 he is the leader of the social democratic fraction within the city council. He is also the speaker of the building committee and assistant speaker of the committee concerned with the city policy towards employment and economy.

Uwe Spiegel assumed his current position as Director of the E-Commerce Solution and Services Department at T-Systems MMS, a subsidiary of the Telekom Group, in 2003. The T-Systems MMS, Germany´s leading provider of internet-based solutions, offers innovative services including development and maintenance of portals handling diverse themes or sectors – such as telecommunication, energy, trade, health care or public administration – as well as intersectoral solutions for online marketing, eProcurement, eCommerce, eServices, eLearning and much more.

Mr. Spiegel is currently responsible for strategy development, portfolio management, risk assessment and the supervision of ecommerce projects realized in his department. Mr. Spiegel has more than 10 years of experience in process management since he takes an active part in the improvement of the MMS in-house software solutions development processes.

Mr. Spiegel was born in 1969 in Saalfeld, Germany and joined the T-Systems MMS in 1997 after obtaining his degree in computer science from the Technical University of Dresden. Prior joining the T-Systems MMS he gained valuable experiences as a freelance consultant. He began his career as a software engineer and project manager at MMS. In addition, Mr. Spiegel is also a member of the federal association of German digital business and he is also very involved in futureSAX, a German business plan competition for entrepreneurs.

Angela Spizig joined the Green Party in 1994, being elected for the district council and therefore getting involved in politics due to her great interest in ecological issues and other current topics at the city level.

In 1999, she was elected in the Cologne City Council and one year later, Ms Spizig became the Vice Mayor of the city of Cologne. She represents the Mayor and the city locally, abroad and in numerous other international networks. After the local elections in 2004 and 2009, the new council re-elected Ms Spizig Vice Mayor for another five-year-term. Her work focuses mainly on environmental issues, culture, media, ICT and international affairs.

Ms Spizig is also Vice-President of the European Cultural network “Les Rencontres” and is often invited as honorable chairman or speaker at conferences all over Europe on diverse topics.

Since 2000 she has been an active member on the board of the Global Cities Dialogue (GCD): a worldwide network of cities, which deals with the new technologies and their application in city administrations, with e-government, with problems and possibilities of the Information & Knowledge Society and the aim of overcoming the digital divide. In the framework of this international platform, the city of Cologne, represented by Ms Spizig, leads one of the 3 themes of the GCD Action Plan 2009-2010: fighting against climate change with the use of ICT. This refers to the inclusion of environmentally compliant technologies in the cities' development policies, together with the exchange of know-how and "good practices".

Ms Spizig is an active politician, who can keep the pace with the current main issues of today’s world.

Dr. Orestis Terzidis, who holds a doctorate in theoretical physics, started to work for SAP Labs Sophia-Antipolis in 1998 as an application developer and joined SAP AG in 2000 as assistant to Henning Kagermann, CEO SAP AG. Since January 2004 he is Director of the CEC Karlsruhe.

In developing future research initiatives, Orestis is currently focusing on Information Technologies for future energy networks (Common abbreviations are IT-FEN and E-Energy). He is leading the Working Group on IT-FEN within BDI Initiativ, an initiative of the German Industry Federation.

Orestis is member of the board of directors of the Deutsches Forschungszentrum für Künstliche Intelligenz and of advisory boards of the Forschungszentrum Informatik and of Frauenhofer institute IITB. He is teaching technology management and related topics at the IU Bruchsal and is acting as reviewer for the European Commission.

Kul Wadhwa is Managing Director for the Wikimedia Foundation, the nonprofit organization dedicated to encouraging the growth, development and distribution of free content worldwide. The Wikimedia Foundation's projects include Wikipedia, one of the top-five most visited websites in the world.

Kul develops and executes business development strategies to distribute Wikipedia's popular content to more people, in more ways, around the world. Currently, Kul is exploring business relationships to better distribute Wikipedia content via mobile devices as well as through other channels. Kul was previously the business and partnerships manager at Stanford University. He has more than a decade of management and business development experience, including senior roles at CyberTrust Japan, B.U.G. Inc. and Pangea2, where he worked on deals throughout Asia, Europe and the Americas. As founder of Cybertrust Japan, a leader of digital certificate encryption, Kul secured backing from NTT DoCoMo, the largest mobile company in Japan. Kul has also conducted economic research with the nonprofit global policy think tank, RAND Corporation.

Kul frequently speaks about Wikipedia and other Wikimedia projects, with a focus on new ways to extend the foundation's mission and ensure sustainability.

Radu POPESCU-ZELETIN is professor at the Technical University Berlin and Director of the Fraunhofer Institute for Open Communication Systems (FOKUS), Berlin. Prof. Popescu-Zeletin graduated at the Polytechnical Institute Bucharest, Romania, got his PH.D. from the University of Bremen, and his habilitation from the Technical University Berlin. He published many papers and books on network technologies, distributed computing systems and applications. He was active in standardization committees (DIN, ISO, WWRF) and had contributed to the development of telecommunication standards. His chair for “Open Communication Systems” at the TU Berlin is highly involved in the development of technologies for “I-centric communication” and “Autonomic Communication” as main constituents of the Future Internet.

He is founder of several telecommunication companies: IKV++ Technologies AG, IVISTAR AG, Testing Technologies IST GmbH, TwonkyVision GmbH, ICAM GmbH , IPTELORG GmbH

Prof. Popescu-Zeletin is member of the Microsoft Interoperability Executive Customer Council, founder of the ISPRAT e.V. (Interdisciplinary Studies on Policy, Law, Administration and Technology e.V.) and of the Wireless World Research Forum. As member of the Motorola Visionary Board (2004-2006) he contributed to new developments in mobile communications He was chairman of the scientific council of DeTeCon International and member of the advisory boards of several telecommunication companies.

He is Senior Member of IEEE, Doctor honoris causa of the Polytechnical Institute Bucharest, Romania and Professor honoris causa of the Catholic University of Campinas, Brasil. He is member of the Romanian Academy as well as bearer of the Public Service Medal of the Republic of Romania.
